The U.S. Senate’s failure to pass a strong climate bill in 2009 presented a significant roadblock to progress in Copenhagen.
Last month, the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee last month passed a bill that was a good first step towards a bold, comprehensive clean energy bill. But, it was only a first step and it's not finished yet. Call your senators now for a strong clean energy bill in 2010.
Why call? Can't I just send an email? Emails are great, but a call is worth a thousand emails! Calls are more personal and more noticeable than emails because staffers have to deal with them in real time. Senate offices keep close tabs on constituent calls and those tallies can influence votes.
Never called your senators before? Don’t worry -- it’s really easy. Simply enter your information on the right, click 'submit' and follow the instructions. If you call after hours, leave a message. Senate offices do listen to their messages and count every call.
