Two years ago, Connecticut Democrats voted for change in Joe's Senate primary against Ned Lamont.
Despite pledges to caucus with our party and refrain from attacking our presidential nominee, Senator Lieberman has threatened to leave our ranks and even joined the Republican Convention to attack Barack Obama in a keynote speech.
He even campaigned against a "filibuster-proof Democratic majority." Make no mistake, when offered a chance to stay in the caucus at the expense of his chairmanship, he countered with more threats in a nationally televised press conference.
The decision is now up to the Democratic Senators on the Steering and Outreach Committee. They need to hear from us to ensure that they relieve Joe Lieberman of his Homeland Security Chairmanship -- and don't give him another Committee chair.
Lieberman has not investigated one meaningful scandal in his role as chairman during the Bush Administration, but we are certain he will be happy to cause problems for an Obama Administration.
It's time for Joe to go.
Please call the 19 Senators on the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee who determine committee chairs -- and ask them to relieve Joe Lieberman of his gavel before the start of the next Congress.
