President Obama has proposed to guarantee health care coverage to all Americans at a price we can afford. His plan would allow everyone the choice of keeping the private health insurance they have or joining a public health insurance plan like Medicare.

Our Senator, Arlen Specter, has recently said, for the first time, that he is willing to
“discuss and consider” the President’s plan to create a public health insurance plan like Medicare that would compete with private insurance companies. Under that plan, if you like you private insurance you can keep it. If you don’t you can get another private insurance plan or sign up for a public health insurance plan.

Call Senator Specter, tell him you want to calling to continue the discussion about the public health insurance plan and tell him that you’re tired of being at the mercy of huge private insurers that deny our claims, raise our rates, and pay their CEO’s huge salaries.

Tell him that you want health care reform that allows you to select a public health insurance plan if that’s your choice.
